What is Gemini?

Gemini is Google’s AI assistant and the family of models behind it. You can use it at gemini.google.com, in the Gemini app on Android and iPhone, and inside Google products such as Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Chrome. Its biggest advantage is that it lives where many people already work: it can pull information from your emails, documents and calendar, and it has Google Search behind it for up-to-date answers.

How to get started

1. Open gemini.google.com or the Gemini app and sign in with your Google account.
2. In settings, choose which Google apps Gemini may connect to.
3. Try a request that uses your own data: “Find the last three invoices from my accountant in Gmail and list the amounts.”
4. For a bigger topic, select Deep Research and describe exactly what you want to learn.
5. Save frequently used instructions as a Gem.
