PDF: what to know
A PDF usually needs one small change: two files joined into one, a few pages pulled out, or a size that finally fits an upload form. That does not justify an account or a subscription.
Merging, splitting and conversion happen in your browser. Compression runs on the Holsha server because the file has to be rebuilt, and the upload is deleted straight after.
How to choose
- Scanned contracts compress best; a PDF that is mostly text is already small.
- Split first, then merge, if you only need a handful of pages out of a big document.
- Resize photos before putting them into a PDF, or the PDF inherits their full weight.
