What is schema markup?
Structured data in JSON-LD format that tells search engines exactly what a page is about: a product with a price, an article with an author, a business with opening hours. Google uses it for rich results such as star ratings, breadcrumbs and product details.
Where do I put the code?
Paste the whole <script type="application/ld+json"> block into the page’s <head> or anywhere in the <body>. On WordPress you can use a plugin that adds custom code to the header.
Will adding schema get me rich results?
It makes a page eligible, but Google decides whether to show them. The markup must match what visitors see on the page. Since 2023 FAQ rich results appear mostly for well-known government and health sites, although FAQ markup is still valid.
