What Figma is
Figma became the default interface design tool because it runs in a browser and several people can be in the same file at once. Nothing has to be installed, and a link is enough to show a client the work.
For a developer the useful part is inspection: open a design and read the exact spacing, colors and type sizes instead of guessing from a screenshot.
Good for
- Designing a website or app interface
- Handing a design to a developer with real measurements
- Reviewing work with a client over a link instead of exported images
Worth knowing
- The free plan limits how many files and collaborators a team can have — check it before building a workflow on it.
- A shared link stays live: export a snapshot if you do not want the client seeing later edits.
