Design tools: what to know
You no longer need an installed suite for most design work. These run in a tab, open the usual file formats and cost nothing for personal and small projects.
They cover different jobs: interface design with real components, a raster editor for photo work, a palette generator, and a whiteboard for wireframes you will throw away.
How to choose
- For a quick diagram, a sketch tool beats a full design app.
- Check the export formats before you build a workflow around a tool.
- Send clients an export, not a live link you might still be editing.
