Fonts: what to know

Two questions decide a font for a Ukrainian site: does it have a full Cyrillic set, and does it have the weights you need. A family that looks perfect in Latin often falls apart on "ґ", "є" or "ї".

Self-hosting is worth the extra step: the page stops depending on someone else’s server, nothing about your visitors leaves your domain, and the font loads with the rest of the site.

How to choose

  • Type a Ukrainian sentence into the preview before you decide.
  • Two families are enough — one for headings, one for text.
  • Subset the font to the characters you use; it cuts the file dramatically.
