Questions
Is my IP address the same as my location?
Only roughly. An IP address shows the country and usually the region of your internet provider, not your street. With a VPN, sites see the VPN server’s address and country instead of yours.
Why is my IP address different from yesterday?
Most home and mobile providers give out dynamic addresses that change from time to time or when the router restarts. A fixed (static) IP is usually a paid option.
What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?
IPv4 addresses look like 203.0.113.7 and are running out. IPv6 addresses are longer, like 2001:db8::1, and there are enough for every device. If you see an IPv6 address here, your provider already supports the newer system.
